The
Political Platform “Dignity and Truth” has recently received the tacit approval
from the Constitutional Court of Moldova to continue their activity. Although
the controversial political project was established first as a civic platform
which launched massive protests with sit-in, they had evolved and had
constituted a political party with the same denomination, and after several
failed attempts they received their license of a political party from the High
Court of Justice. Now, they are encouraged to continue to work at implementing
their initiative of organizing a plebiscite on urgent questions which are
essential for the well-functioning of the state. One of the surveyed questions
was on the form of electing the President, a query settled recently by the CC.
Now, what remains to offer to the people’s choice is the question of amending
the constitution so as to diminish the number of MPs in the Parliament and to
annul their immunity in case of necessity.

On
the 14 March the day when GB celebrates the Commonwealth, the ruling Monarch
Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II addressed a message on the occasion. The
main highlighted idea was of “encouraging openness and diversity”, promoting
the “willingness to share ideas, knowledge, resources for the common good, by
working together for the foundation of a harmonious and progressive society”.
We want to mention, how important is the present message proffered by the Queen
in the context of a very tense period of heated debates on the problem whether
GB should remain within the EU or exit from it. The Brexit issue is planned to
be settled by a referendum in the near future. It is to say nothing by
qualifying as mixed the general tendencies and moods within the British
society. As a result of the continuous economic difficulties within EU, the
Syrian refugees crisis and the divisive internal tendencies the Brexit is
deemed to be inevitable. The Queen herself has recently inclined in favour. The
problem of the British leaving the EU is of enormous interest, for both the Eurosceptics’
camp and for the adepts of the EU consolidation. Even the President of the USA
Barack Obama recently has informed the public opinion that he intends to visit
UK this autumn in order to discuss the circumstances and advantages for GB to
stay within the EU rather than isolate themselves from the world!

The
media agency Reuters reports that the UNO has urged for proceeding to an
investigation of the Leader of North Korea Kim Jong Un for his crime against
humanity. Besides him, other high officials of North Korea should be prosecuted
for their infringement of human rights and committing crimes against humanity
in this isolated country. The UNO are accusing the North Korean administration
of investing resources in developing their nuclear capabilities striving to
enter the elitist club of countries who do possess nuclear arms, while the
greatest part of the country live in an abject poverty and do not have
sufficient food for their families. This declaration comes at the meeting of 47
UNO members in Geneva, evoking a report presented last month on the existent
situation.

The
enormous scandal that broke out last week within the World Tennis Association
when Maria Sharapova the world class tennis player of Russian origins admitted
at a press-conference that she had been detected positive for doping, is in
progress. The substance in question meldonium, has been created by a Russian
pharmaceuticals producer for treating some health related conditions and is
considered as of vital importance. However, the WTA blacklisted the medicine in
point since the 1 January current, on allegations that it enhances performance
and improves the mood if used by professional athletes. The WTA has sent
informative letters about this novelty to all the sportsmen concerned,
Sharapova included. She admitted herself of having received 5 times the
warning. When she was confronted with prohibition to play in the Australian
Open on the grounds that the forbidden drug had been detected in her blood
samples, she motivated her decision to continue taking the drug which she had
been taken for 10 years, as a personal decision and assuming it. On another occasion she denied having received
warnings about meldonium being on the prohibited list blaming it on a broken
communication with the specialized commissions. The tennis fans from around the
world have alternatively shown her support in her difficult times, as she faces
a trial in the near future and a possible punishment in the form of
interdiction from playing. The public opinion has nevertheless grown into
mistrust for her unconvincing explanations and fans have less confidence in her
honesty. Deception was also expressed from the part of other athletes her
colleagues of tennis court who reported that she cheated and they would doubt
all her past victories were merited. We hope however that Sharapova would
recover from this blow to her career and would take her revenge match to the
admiration of her public.
